Chicago, IL – Fatalities Reported in Two Car Wrecks at 95th St Exit on Dan Ryan Expy

Chicago, IL - Fatalities Reported in Two Car Wrecks at 95th St Exit on Dan Ryan Expy

Chicago, IL (May 10, 2023) – Two accidents at the 95th Street off-ramp from the Dan Ryan Expressway on Wednesday morning, May 10, resulted in at least two fatalities, according to the Illinois State Police.

At 12:30 a.m., there was a fatal crash at the 95th Street exit, and while emergency personnel were still at the scene, another fatal collision happened in the same area. It’s unclear if any additional injuries resulted from either incident.

All lanes of the freeway heading outbound were shut down, according to the police. The roads reopened around 5:50 a.m., but an investigation proceeded in the meantime. Officers with the Chicago Police Department asked any witnesses to step forward and aid the investigation.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims. Our thoughts are with any injured victims and their loved ones.

Number of Fatal Crashes in Chicago

Automobile accidents are a major source of collateral damage in Illinois. In Illinois, there were 319,146 vehicle accidents in 2017.

Our Chicago automobile accident attorneys can speak to the alarming regularity with which accidents occur. Someone you know, whether it be a family member, close friend, neighbor, or colleague, has undoubtedly been in an accident at some point.

Some occurrences, however, only result in little property damage. However, many individuals sustain injuries in such incidents annually. Victims of such incidents may have to pay for related costs even if they were not at fault.

Every driver and passenger on the road has to be aware of the dangers of automotive accidents. Whether the accident occurs in Chicago, elsewhere in Illinois, or elsewhere in the United States, the same rules apply.

If you were wounded in a vehicle accident due to another driver’s negligence or distraction in the state of Illinois, you may be eligible to submit a claim for financial damages. Accident victims in Illinois should hire an attorney with knowledge of personal injury law since it may be difficult to get full and fair financial compensation from at-fault drivers or their insurance companies.
