Chicago, IL - Five Hurt in Ambulance Accident at Jackson & Hamlin Blvds in Garfield Park

Chicago, IL (October 6, 2022) – Three members of the Chicago Fire Department were among the five individuals injured when an ambulance they were riding in was involved in a collision with a vehicle on the western side of Garfield Park.

According to a Chicago Fire Department representative, the accident occurred near the corner of Jackson Boulevard and Hamlin Boulevard on the western edge of Chicago’s Garfield Park.

The three CFD personnel who were brought to Rush University Medical Center were listed in severe to fair condition. The ambulance brought a patient in severe to fair condition to Mount Sinai. The other female driver, meanwhile, was sent to Stroger Hospital, where her condition was listed as “severe to critical.”

The police have no other information to provide at this time.

Our thoughts remain with the injured victims and their families at this time.

Common Factors Behind Car Crashes in Chicago

More than 90,000 people in Illinois are wounded or killed annually in car accidents. Around 950 individuals lost their lives due to a variety of tragic circumstances. Official statistics place the leading causes of fatal automobile accidents as excessive speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and collisions with stationary objects.

As would be expected, most vehicle accidents in and around Cook County occur on or near major roads. According to the most current state statistics, more than a quarter of all vehicle accidents in Illinois occur in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Victims of preventable traffic accidents must bear the consequences of others’ irresponsibility. In any case, it remains true once the discussion has concluded. In addition to skyrocketing medical bills, horrific injuries, and other financial worries, patients must cope with the stress and agony of mental anguish.

If you or a loved one has suffered because of one of these conditions, you may be able to take legal action. If you were in an automobile accident in Chicago and did not cause it, you should consult with a lawyer as soon as possible.

If you were hurt in a car accident that was the fault of another motorist in Illinois, you have the legal right to pursue justice and full and fair compensation. Illinois motorist accident victims who try to handle their claims with the insurance companies and at-fault drivers on their own sometimes find it difficult to get adequate compensation.
