Chicago, IL – I-90/94 Kennedy Site of Injury Auto Wreck at Belmont & Kimball Aves

Chicago, IL - I-90/94 Kennedy Site of Injury Auto Wreck at Belmont & Kimball Aves

Chicago, IL (June 19, 2022) – On Sunday evening, June 19, a multiple-vehicle collision happened in the greater Chicago metropolitan area, according to local officials.

Per Chicago Police sources and preliminary officer reports, two cars collided on Interstate 90/94 Kennedy Outbound at Belmont Avenue and Kimball Avenue, blocking the whole freeway. When the incident happened at 11:45 p.m., both vehicles were merging between the right lanes and the exit ramp, forcing traffic to back up for more than a mile to Diversey Avenue.

Two of the victims are claimed to have suffered minor injuries, but their current medical status is unclear. However, both are expected to recover.

No citations or charges have been imposed as a result of the incident, per the latest from authorities. Despite this, the investigation into the facts surrounding the wreck is still underway.

We are thinking about the accident victims who have been injured and wish them a speedy recovery.

Chicago-Area Injury Auto Accidents

According to Illinois statistics, around 67,000 vehicle accidents occurred in the state, resulting in a minimum of 94,000 injuries. Furthermore, about 955 terrible events resulted in the deaths of over 975 persons. The majority of deadly accidents, according to officials, were caused by automobiles colliding with immovable objects, drunken or drugged drivers, and excessive speed.

Unfortunately, these and other types of traffic collisions are all too common in and around Cook County, with many of them taking place at heavily used intersections. According to recent state figures, the Chicago metropolitan region accounts for almost one-fourth of all car accidents in the Prairie State.

The victims of avoidable traffic accidents who are injured as a result of someone else’s carelessness bear the weight of the consequences. This is true regardless of how the situation unfolded. Victims must also deal with the stress and misery of mental suffering in addition to mounting medical expenditures, horrible physical injuries, and other financial issues.

If you or a family member has been injured or died as a consequence of one of these incidents, you may be eligible to pursue a number of legal options. If you were not at fault for an accident, you should contact a Chicago car accident lawyer right at once.

When you’re hurt in one of these avoidable automobile accidents in Illinois, especially when a crash occurs as a result of another driver’s carelessness or inattention, you have the right to seek justice and full and fair compensation. Without the assistance of an experienced attorney, recovering significant monetary compensation from the drivers or insurance companies responsible for these collisions can be extremely complicated and difficult; therefore, Illinois accident victims should seek legal counsel as soon as possible after their collision.
