Chicago, IL - Man Hospitalized After Pedestrian Accident at Main St & Michigan Ave

Chicago, IL (February 18, 2023) — Police report that a car struck and badly wounded an elderly pedestrian Thursday morning in the Evanston area, just outside of Chicago.

Police arrived at the scene shortly, thereafter, located in the vicinity of Main Street and Michigan Avenue, around 5:10 a.m., where they discovered an older male breathing but unconscious with an apparent head injury. The car involved had also apparently rolled over at the scene, though the driver appeared unharmed.

According to authorities, he was sent to St. Francis hospital in serious condition.

The involved driver remained at the scene of the incident. The NORTAF Major Crash Assistance Team will investigate the incident and has not released further information.

Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family. We hope for his full recovery.

Fatal Car Accidents in Chicagoland

Despite only accounting for 4% of all vehicle accidents, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that car rollovers cause close to 31% of all fatal traffic accidents. A third of all collision deaths in 2018 were caused by rollover accidents, which claimed over 11,000 car passengers’ lives. 91% of these incidents involving rolling automobiles take place on roads with a 55 mph or higher speed limit.

Rollover accidents are the most dangerous, even though any mishap might endanger the well-being of everyone involved. The likelihood that victims may have severe neck and head injuries when a car flips considerably rises.

Our Chicago law firm’s personal injury lawyers are aware of how traumatic these incidents can be for anybody inside a moving automobile. This is why we exert so much effort to aid in our customers’ recuperation.

A variety of things, such as careless errors on the part of motorists and faulty auto components, may cause these rollover accidents. These incidents might have devastating effects on the victims, regardless of the reason. Injured people must deal with wage loss, high medical expenses, and significant property damage. If you suffered injuries in a car rollover brought on by someone else’s negligence, get in touch with an Illinois car accident lawyer to safeguard your legal rights.

An automobile often flips over after a collision because of the enormous force produced. This dramatically increases the risk of severe or catastrophic injuries for drivers and passengers.

Among the most hazardous characteristics of a rolling car are roof collapse, cracked windshields, and vehicle fires. Sadly, this suggests that victims may sustain serious injuries, such as full-body trauma and shattered bones, internal hemorrhage, organ damage, or even death.

If you were in a rollover accident, you could suffer permanent disabilities and have a difficult time recovering. You should not be responsible for any expenditures related to the incident if you did not cause it.
