Chicago, IL – Multi-Driver Wreck, Injuries on Northwest Hwy at Newark Ave

Chicago, IL - Multi-Driver Wreck, Injuries on Northwest Hwy at Newark Ave

Chicago, IL (September 18, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon, September 18, two cars crashed on Chicago’s Northwest Highway, causing authorities to respond.

Police were investigating a crash involving two or three vehicles that occurred at 2:10 p.m. on the northbound-southbound freeway near Newark Avenue. Because of the miles-long traffic jam, police and medical personnel were sent to the area to investigate and treat any wounded victims. There was a fire in one of the cars, but Chicago Fire Rescue was able to put it out after the accident.

There is no confirmed count of casualties, but video from the site shows two people being transported to a hospital by ambulance.

In the meantime, the cops haven’t said anything further and are still looking into it.

Our thoughts are with the wounded, and we hope they recover fully and quickly.

Chicago’s Traffic Accidents & Injuries

Roughly 1,025 persons lost their lives in accidents in the state of Illinois in 2013. Many fatal automobile accidents in the state may be traced back to three main causes: excessive speed, collisions with fixed objects, and driver distraction.

The four- and six-lane roadways in Cook County see a disproportionately high number of severe accidents and deaths. In addition, 26 percent of the state of Illinois’ accident cases occur in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Victims of vehicle accidents often end up paying the price for the reckless actions of others. In addition, being a witness to such events may be very traumatic on many levels. If you were hurt in an automobile accident in Chicago and think it was someone else’s fault, you should immediately go to a lawyer.

An Illinois resident who has been hurt in an accident that wasn’t their fault may sue the at-fault party in civil court to get financial compensation for their suffering. If you were recently involved in one in Illinois, you should talk to a lawyer who focuses on vehicle accidents. Attempting to settle with the negligent driver’s insurance company on your own might be challenging.
