Chicago, IL – Rollover Car Crash on I-290 at 9th Ave Ends in Injuries

Chicago, IL - Rollover Car Crash on I-290 at 9th Ave Ends in Injuries

Chicago, IL (March 13, 2023) — According to traffic reports, there were delays and backups in traffic for the Monday morning commute on both the incoming and outgoing sides of the Eisenhower Expressway.

After a multi-vehicle collision in the outbound lanes of Interstate 290, close to 9th Avenue, Illinois State Police arrived at the scene. At least one driver crossed the center median, potentially causing the incident and resulting in a rollover wreck involving two or three more vehicles.

EMTs apparently transported a handful of injured victims to a hospital, but their current conditions are unknown. An investigation remains active in the meantime, and officers plan to release additional information as it becomes available.

Our thoughts now are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.

Major Vehicle Accidents in Chicagoland

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that car rollovers account for more than 31% of all fatal traffic crashes, but they’re involved in only 4% of all automotive accidents on the whole. In 2018, almost 11,000 automobile passengers were killed in rollover accidents, representing roughly a third of all collision fatalities that year. 91% of these occurrences involving rolling vehicles occur on highways with a speed restriction of 55 miles per hour or above.

Accidents of any kind may pose a threat to the safety of the persons involved, but rollovers pose the greatest danger. When a vehicle rolls over, the probability that victims may have serious neck and head injuries increases significantly.

Personal injury attorneys at our Chicago law company understand how devastating these occurrences can be for anybody inside a moving car. This is why we work so hard to help in the healing of our clients.

A number of factors, including driver error and defective car parts, may cause rollover accidents. Regardless of the cause, these events may have catastrophic consequences for the victims. In addition to exorbitant medical costs and substantial property damage, injured individuals must also contend with pay loss. Contact an Illinois vehicle accident attorney to protect your legal rights if you were injured in a car rollover caused by someone else’s carelessness.

After a collision, a car often rolls over due to the tremendous force created. This significantly increases the danger of serious or catastrophic injuries for both drivers and passengers.

Roof collapse, damaged windshields, and automobile fires are among the most dangerous aspects of a rolling vehicle. This, unfortunately, implies that victims may experience severe injuries, including full-body trauma and broken bones, internal bleeding, organ damage, or even death.

If you were involved in a rollover accident, you may sustain incapacitating injuries and face a lengthy, arduous road to recovery. Needless to say, we believe that if you did not cause the crash in question, you should not be liable for any associated costs.
