Injuries Reported in Chicagoland Automobile Crashes

In 2013, there were over 97,000 crashes in the state of Illinois, 910 of which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,025 people. According to traffic analysts, distracted and reckless driving, striking a stationary object, and driving too quickly are the three leading causes of fatal automotive accidents across the state.

While accidents sometimes occur on two-lane roadways, Cook County’s four- and six-lane highways account for the great majority of fatalities and serious injuries. In addition, the Chicago metropolitan region accounts for 25 percent of all accidents in Illinois, according to the numbers.

Frequently, victims of automobile accidents pay for the recklessness of another driver. Furthermore, harm to one’s head and pocketbook may be just as detrimental as damaged bones following these sad events. Obviously, any Chicago resident who sustains injuries in a car accident caused by another driver’s recklessness should contact an attorney immediately.
