Chicago, IL – Two-Car Accident on I-80/94 at Torrence Ave Injures Victims

Chicago, IL - Two-Car Accident on I-80/94 at Torrence Ave Injures Victims

Chicago, IL (January 3, 2023) – Two vehicles collided on a Chicago area roadway on January 3, requiring the deployment of multiple emergency personnel and rescue teams.

Chicago police officers responded to witness complaints about the incident on westbound I-80/94 at approximately 7:00 p.m. According to preliminary accounts, a collision between two vehicles occurred at the Torrence Avenue exit, producing a traffic backup that stretched all the way back to Kennedy Avenue.

It seems that emergency medical services in the Chicago region sent one patient to the hospital.

Despite this, detectives are still looking into the matter; as of yet, they have not released any further details. In the meantime, the CPD has issued a witness request.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with the wounded victims at this time.

Traffic Accident Rates in Chicagoland

According to statistics, there were around 90,000 car accidents in Illinois in a single year. To add salt to injury, almost a thousand people died. The three leading causes of fatal car accidents are intoxicated driving, collisions with immovable objects, and high speeds.

In Cook County, many accidents resulting in death or serious injury occur at or near busy intersections. The greater Chicago metropolitan area accounts for more than a quarter of all traffic incidents in the state of Illinois, according to recently released statistics.

As a rule, those who are hurt in car crashes are the ones who have to pay the price for someone else’s carelessness. Patients often face considerable financial concerns due to their treatment, as if dealing with physical pain and emotional stress caused by an accident wasn’t enough.

Victims may also be compensated for the emotional anguish they endured as a result of the disaster and for the death of a loved one. If you were seriously injured in a car accident and it wasn’t your fault, you should get in touch with a Chicago personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.
