Our sincere condolences go out to the families of the deceased victims.

Fatal Wrong-Way Crashes in Chicagoland

According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, between 2010 and 2018, around 3,900 people perished in over 2,900 fatal wrong-way collisions. This translates to at least 420 deaths annually on average. In addition, more than half of these deaths were caused by wrong-way drivers (51%), and although a smaller fraction of the total deaths (around 6%) were reportedly passengers of these motorists, almost four out of ten (39%) were in other cars.

In the event that people are hurt, owing to the irresponsible behavior of others, they and their family members are all-too-often held responsible for the incident in terms of paying medical expenses out of pocket, dealing with insurance companies on their own, and beyond. Needless to say, those affected by these unfortunate occurrences may feel as though they have nowhere to turn when confronted with severe psychological stress and mounting medical bills or long-term injuries.

If you have been injured in one of these crashes or have lost a loved one as a consequence of one of these incidents, you may be eligible for a variety of legal remedies. Therefore, you should contact a Chicago vehicle accident attorney as soon as possible (after receiving proper medical care).

In the event that you were harmed in a vehicle accident in Illinois and you think the other driver was at fault because they were careless or distracted, you have the right to submit a claim for damages under Illinois law. While it is important for accident victims to seek the services of a qualified attorney, it may be difficult to secure a precise and fair financial judgment from drivers or their insurance companies.
