Chicago, IL - Two Drivers Collide on I-190/Kennedy at Mannheim Rd, Causing Injuries

Chicago, IL (November 7, 2022) – Two cars collided on the left shoulder of I-190/Kennedy Outbound in Chicago on Monday, November 7, prompting police to respond to the site of the accident.

At about 3:30 p.m., police investigators began their investigation on the Outbound side of the highway, close to the area near Mannheim Road. Authorities reported heavy traffic delays all the way back to Bessie Coleman Drive while EMS crews arrived at the scene to examine the situation and treat any patients.

A vehicle fire also reportedly broke out as a result of the collision, and Chicago Fire Rescue crews extinguished that blaze.

Meanwhile, at least two individuals were shown being transported to a nearby hospital via news footage, but no official toll of injured victims has been released.

Those who know more about what happened are encouraged to contact the Chicago Police Department. An investigation is still ongoing at this time.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims, as well as their families. We hope for their complete recovery.

Car Accidents in Chicagoland

The state of Illinois saw over 1,025 fatalities due to over 97,000 incidents in 2013. According to studies conducted by traffic experts, the leading causes of fatal automobile accidents in the state include high rates of speeding, colliding with a stationary object, and driver distraction.

Most fatalities and serious injuries in Cook County occur on four- and six-lane highways, although they may also occur on two-lane roadways. In addition, the Chicago region accounts for a quarter of all accidents in the state of Illinois.

When someone else causes an accident, the victims usually have to pay the price. Moreover, mental and financial harm may be just as severe as physical harm following such sad events. Anyone in Chicago who suffers injuries in a car crash due to another driver’s carelessness should contact an attorney without delay.
