Chicago, IL – Two-Vehicle Crash on Addison St at Kimball in Irving Park Leaves Four Hospitalized

Chicago, IL - Two-Vehicle Crash on Addison St at Kimball in Irving Park Leaves Four Hospitalized

Chicago, IL (May 19, 2022) – A two-vehicle accident took place in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood early Thursday morning, May 19, and left four people hurt, police said.

Chicago Police reported that the driver of an Infiniti sedan was traveling at excessive speeds in the 3000 block of West Addison Street. Then, at around 2:45 a.m., the Infiniti ran a red light on Addison, at its intersection with Kimball Avenue, and hit a Mazda sedan.

The driver of the Mazda, described only as an adult male, was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital with moderate injuries but was said to be in good condition. The driver of the Infiniti was also transported in unknown condition.

Two passengers were transferred to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, though their current conditions were not made available.

Police said charges in connection with the incident are currently pending.

The injured victims of this accident are in our thoughts, with hopes of a full recovery for all involved.

Multi-Vehicle Crash Injuries in Illinois

More than 2.5 million incidents at intersections are reported each year by authorities with the Federal Highway Administration (FHA). The majority of these accidents involve drivers who are inattentive or making left turns. And according to the authorities, more than 41% of all car accidents that occur in the United States take place at these crossroads.

Unfortunately, Cook County is home to a high number of motor vehicle collisions, many of which take place at busier intersections. What’s more, per authorities from the state, roughly one-quarter of all car accidents in the state of Illinois take place in and around the metropolitan area of Chicago.

When victims of an accident incur injuries because of the careless conduct of others, they and their family members are the ones who end up paying the price. This is true regardless of what triggered the crash. From debilitating psychological stress and exorbitant medical expenditures to financial stress, victims must traverse a stressful, frustrating path.

However, if you’ve been hurt in one of these incidents, or even if you’ve lost a loved one as a result of one of these accidents, you may have a variety of legal remedies open to you in the aftermath. You should get in touch with a vehicle accident attorney in Chicago as soon as you can after being involved in a collision that wasn’t your fault.

If a victim of an auto accident in Illinois was injured as a result of another driver’s careless or distracted driving, they have the right to seek compensation under the state’s legal system. However, since it might be difficult to secure a complete and fair monetary award from drivers or their insurance companies, it’s essential for accident victims to retain qualified Illinois legal counsel.
