Chicago, IL – Victims Hurt in Car Accident on I-80 at Briggs St

Chicago, IL - Victims Hurt in Car Accident on I-80 at Briggs St

Chicago, IL (August 8, 2022) – On August 8th, early in the evening, two cars were involved in a collision on a local road in the Chicago area. Numerous law enforcement agencies were called to the site.

The Chicago Police Department was sent to the collision site at 6:15 p.m., and they arrived on westbound Interstate 80 soon after. According to reports, two vehicles traveling in the left three lanes collided before the Briggs Street exit, causing traffic to back up to the Houbolt Road exit. It seems that one patient was transported to the hospital by Chicago-area emergency medical personnel.

Despite this, the investigation is still ongoing, and no new details have been provided. CPD officials requested any witnesses who may have further information to come forward.

We send our sympathies to the families of the victims and hope for a full, speedy recovery.

Auto Accidents in the Chicago Metropolitan Area

According to official statistics, there were roughly 95,000 car accidents in Illinois in 2013. Over 900 different types of natural catastrophes directly caused the deaths of about 990 persons. The three main factors that cause deadly car accidents are driving while intoxicated, hitting an immovable object head-on, and driving too fast.

The majority of fatal and injury-causing traffic accidents in Cook County take place at or close to busy intersections. More than one-fourth of all traffic accidents, according to recently published statistics from the state of Illinois, take place in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.

Motor vehicle accident victims often suffer the results of others’ carelessness. Patients must contend with mounting medical costs as well as other financial difficulties on top of the stress and anguish brought on by accident-related injuries.

The victims may also be entitled to damages for their suffering or the unjustified death of a family member. If you weren’t at fault for the crash, you need to speak with a Chicago automobile accident attorney right away.
