Hampshire Twp, IL – Five Teens Hurt in Single-Car Crash at Dietrich & Briar Hill Rd
Hampshire Twp, IL (February 11, 2023) – On Saturday, February 11, a single-vehicle accident in Hampshire Township resulted in the injury of five teenagers.
The incident occurred on Dietrich Road near Briar Hill Road at around 2:50 a.m. It was reported that the 2019 Honda HRV was headed eastbound at a high rate of speed. This is when the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.
The 16-year-old female driving the car was airlifted to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in serious condition. The 15-year-old riding in the front seat was taken to Northwest Huntley Hospital before being airlifted to Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago with life-threatening injuries.
Three others were also hurt in the crash, and no updates on their conditions have been made public at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
