Naperville, IL - Boy Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at Bailey Rd & Coach Dr

Naperville, IL (September 8, 2022) – On Thursday morning in west suburban Naperville, a 10-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run accident.

At around 7:50 a.m., the child was riding his bike at the corner of Bailey Road and Coach Drive when a car hit him, according to the police. After fleeing the scene, the car was last seen heading east on Bailey Road, per Naperville officers.

The child was sent to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening wounds. The police report said the female driver was behind the wheel of a silver car but did not release additional details.

The probe is still in progress at this time. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit.

The wounded victim and their loved ones are in our thoughts, and we hope for their speedy recovery.

Bicycle Crashes & Injuries in the Chicago Area

For city planners in Chicago, the pandemic of bicycle accidents is a major source of concern. According to data compiled by the state, an average of six bikers were murdered annually in Chicago between 2012 and 2019. Furthermore, there has been an increase in deadly accidents.

Moreover, people riding bicycles and are involved in automobile accidents often suffer serious injuries, sometimes fatal ones, such as brain damage, paralysis, and even death. Despite prompt medical intervention, such as surgery or intensive rehabilitation, many patients may not make a complete recovery for weeks or months.

Unfortunately, many patients don’t make it out of their wounds alive. When someone dies in an accident that wasn’t their fault, they leave behind a financial and emotional burden, and so do their loved ones.

If you or a loved one have been hurt in a bicycle accident that was the fault of another individual, you have many options for seeking compensation for your suffering. If you or someone you love has been killed in an avoidable vehicle accident in Chicago, you should speak with a lawyer as soon as possible.

In Illinois, a wrongful death lawsuit is often filed by the estate executor, who is typically a close family of the dead. In Illinois, a wrongful death lawsuit may be filed if a victim’s death is the result of irresponsible or illegal behavior. If the plaintiff prevails, those who put their faith in them will get compensation.

It is critical for family members and other representatives to contact an attorney as soon as possible when a sad occurrence occurs since the statute of limitations for wrongful death claims is often two years (from the date of death).
