Rochelle, IL - Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on IL Rte 64 at Mulford Rd

Rochelle, IL (June 20, 2022) – A Sunday afternoon, June 19th, collision in Ogle County claimed the life of a Chicago suburbian.

It occurred around six miles north of Rochelle at the crossroads of East Illinois Route 64 and Mulford Road. A motorcycle operated by a 60-year-old man from Addison reportedly collided with the driver’s side of a truck. The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died later. He has not been named publicly, however.

The truck’s driver allegedly failed to yield at the junction. She was not injured, and no citations or charges have yet been announced.

According to police, the collision remains under investigation, and any witnesses were asked to come forward with additional information.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the loved ones of the deceased man.

Fatalities Reported in Illinois Motorcycle Accidents

In Illinois, particularly in densely populated metropolitan areas such as Chicago, significant injuries or deaths resulting from motorcycle accidents are all too prevalent. According to current statistics from the Illinois Department of Transportation, approximately eighty percent of motorcycle collisions result in severe injuries.

More than thirty percent of motorcyclists who are injured get incapacitating injuries that need months or even years to heal. Sadly, motorcyclists often pass away from the injuries they incur in these collisions. Riders are especially vulnerable on the road since motorbikes provide far less in terms of safety measures and prevention than passenger cars.

When these victims are murdered in an accident that was not their fault, their bereaved family members are forced to deal with tremendous mental pain and significant financial repercussions. If you were injured or lost a loved one in a motorcycle accident caused by someone else’s carelessness, you may have legal recourse going forward. When a loved one has perished in an avoidable accident, call a Chicago injury accident attorney immediately.
