Pedestrian Accident Fatalities in Chicagoland

Despite a general drop in other forms of motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian deaths in the United States have increased by around 36% in recent years. Illinois is home to many of the United States’ most populated and walkable cities, including Chicago and Springfield. While traversing the congested sidewalks and roads, pedestrians in these locations suffer a greater danger of death or serious injury than autos.

Sadly, Cook County has the greatest incidence of pedestrian deaths among all Illinois counties. In Cook County, at least 120 pedestrian fatalities have already occurred this year, the highest amount in at least five years.

Victims of a devastating disaster may feel helpless in the face of their continuous physical pain, severe emotional anguish, and/or substantial financial commitments. These folks die away all too often, leaving behind heartbroken family members and a mountain of medical expenses.

Pursuing a claim for damages may be possible if a pedestrian accident results in injury or death. After talking with a Chicago vehicle accident lawyer, you may be eligible for fair monetary compensation.

The Illinois Wrongful Death Act permits victims of traffic accidents resulting from another driver’s carelessness or recklessness to pursue a claim. The victim or their family may get monetary compensation after a successful court action.
