Bicycle Accident Fatalities in Chicagoland

The epidemic of bicycle accidents is a big issue for Chicago’s municipal planners. According to statistics gathered by the state, between 2012 and 2019, an average of six motorcyclists were killed yearly in Chicago. Furthermore, the number of fatal accidents has increased.

Moreover, bicycle riders who are engaged in automotive collisions often have severe injuries, including brain damage, paralysis, and even death. Despite rapid medical intervention, such as surgery or intense therapy, a number of individuals may not recover completely for weeks or months.

Unfortunately, many patients do not survive their injuries. When someone dies at the hands of a careless motorist, it adds insult to injury to the already strenuous financial and emotional burdens for their loved ones.

If you or a loved one were injured in a bicycle accident that was someone else’s responsibility, you have a number of choices for pursuing compensation for your suffering. You should contact an attorney immediately if you or a loved one has been killed in a preventable car accident in Chicago.

In Illinois, wrongful death lawsuits are often brought by the deceased’s executor, who is typically a close relative. Essentially, a wrongful death lawsuit may be filed if the death of a person was caused by negligent or unlawful conduct.

Since the statute of limitations for wrongful death claims is often two years, it is crucial for family members and other representatives to contact an attorney as quickly as possible after a tragic event (from the date of death, for instance).

The fundamental concept behind D&W Law Group is the belief that wounded victims and bereaved families should never confront these problems alone.
