Stevenson, IL (December 27, 2022) – On the evening of Tuesday, December 27, the Stevenson Police Department and the Chicago Police Department responded to an accident involving two vehicles on the Joliet Road exit ramp off Interstate 55.
On the Outbound side of the interstate, police investigators began their investigation at around 7:50 p.m. Long delays were reported on I-55, and paramedics and police officers were sent to the scene to examine the situation and treat any injured individuals. The initial collision also resulted in a car fire, extinguished quickly by Chicago Fire Rescue units.
