Stevenson, IL – Victims Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-55 Near Lemont Rd
Stevenson, IL (April 19, 2023) – In the late afternoon of Wednesday, April 19, the Stevenson Police Department and the Chicago Police Department responded to an accident involving two vehicles on I-55.
On the Outbound side of the highway, police began their investigation at around 3:30 p.m. Long delays were reported on I-55 at Lemont Road, and paramedics and police officers were sent to the scene to look into the situation and treat any injured individuals. The initial collision also resulted in a car fire, extinguished quickly by Chicago Fire Rescue units.
There is no official number of victims, but local news video shows at least two individuals being transported to the hospital.
