Chicago, IL – Auto Accident on I-355 at St Charles Rd Injures Victims

Chicago, IL - Auto Accident on I-355 at St. Charles Rd Injures Victims

Chicago, IL (April 17, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, April 17, the Illinois State Police and the Chicago Police Department received reports of a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 355.

At least two people sustained injuries at the scene of the crash. At 5:00 p.m., police were called to the site of the accident, and it was stated that the northbound I-355/Veterans Memorial Tollway at St. Charles Road was blocked for nearly a mile as emergency services worked in the area. Traffic was particularly heavy on the lanes back to Butterfield Road.

According to early accounts, one or two injured individuals were taken to a local hospital. Authorities were on the scene for almost an hour because of the investigation, during which time traffic was stopped completely. However, at this time, the inquiry is still ongoing.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families.

Chicago’s Rate of Traffic Accidents

With a population of three million, Chicago is the United States’ third-largest metropolis and a popular tourist destination. Clearly, there are hundreds of car accidents every year on Chicago’s highways due to the high traffic level, leaving drivers and passengers vulnerable.

There was an increase in traffic-related mortality notwithstanding the coronavirus outbreak, stay-at-home orders, and greater social isolation. It is predicted by the Illinois Department of Transportation that by the year 2020, speeding will have significantly increased, putting more drivers at risk.

Many people have lost their lives on city roads because of careless drivers being drunk, going too fast, or otherwise being irresponsible. When driving in Chicago, Cook County is the most dangerous.

As a result, victims of automobile accidents, when another driver is at fault, are in a more precarious position. They also usually have to foot the bill for any necessary medical care. A catastrophic injury’s physical and financial toll may be overwhelming, but the emotional toll can be just as devastating.

One of the following conditions must be met before a lawsuit may be filed. Contact a Chicago car accident lawyer without delay if you or a loved one were hurt in a vehicle accident that wasn’t your fault.

In Illinois, if an accident might have been avoided but for another driver’s carelessness or negligence, the injured party is eligible for reimbursement for their losses. One of the best ways to secure a large payout from negligent drivers’ insurance companies is to hire an Illinois accident attorney as soon as possible.
