Chicago, IL – I-290 Eisenhower Scene of Vehicle Wreck, Injuries at Western Ave

Chicago, IL - I-290 Eisenhower Scene of Vehicle Wreck, Injuries at Western Ave

Chicago, IL (April 22, 2023) – Saturday’s multiple-vehicle collision on I-290 Eisenhower Outbound resulted in several injuries during the early morning hours, according to the Illinois State Police and the Chicago Police Department.

Due to the accident around the exit to Western Avenue, traffic was backed up for about one mile, with heavy traffic going back to Oakley Boulevard. According to further information supplied by local authorities, officers arrived at the site of the two-vehicle collision at around 4:20 a.m.

In addition, initial reports suggest that one individual had serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities could not provide further details in the interim.

The injured victims are in our thoughts, and we hope for their full recovery at this time.

Rate of Car Accidents in Chicago

Chicago, the third-largest city in the United States, is home to three million people, and millions more come annually. Given the number of drivers on Chicago’s highways, it is not surprising that thousands of auto accidents occur each year.

Some individuals might be startled to find that fatal automobile accidents increased despite the coronavirus pandemic, stay-at-home orders, and social isolation. The most recent predictions from the Illinois Department of Transportation indicate that in 2020, speeding climbed considerably. Officials think the absence of automobiles is primarily responsible for this shift in driving behavior.

The majority of traffic deaths happened on busy metropolitan streets, and many were caused by intoxicated driving, excessive speeding, and carelessness. Cook County, home to Chicago, was the most dangerous county for drivers.

Consequently, persons wounded in vehicle accidents caused by someone else’s recklessness are particularly fragile. To make things worse, women are often responsible for their own medical costs. Some of the patients afflicted with these wounds must also endure the emotional anguish caused by rising medical expenses, intense long-term pain, and rehabilitation.

If at least one of these conditions applies to you, you may be eligible to file a lawsuit. If you were injured in an accident that was not your responsibility, you should immediately call a seasoned Chicago auto accident attorney, regardless of the nature of the incident.

In Illinois, anybody injured in a vehicle accident that might have been avoided due to another driver’s negligence or carelessness is entitled to full and fair compensation for their losses and suffering. In Illinois, the sooner a victim of an accident finds legal counsel after the occurrence, the greater their prospects of winning substantial monetary compensation from negligent drivers or insurance companies.
