Chicago, IL – I-65 Site of Injury Semi-Truck Wreck at SR 2 & 205th Ave

Chicago, IL - I-65 Site of Injury Semi-Truck Wreck at SR 2 & 205th Ave

Chicago, IL (July 29, 2022) – On Friday evening, July 29, a semi-truck driver was engaged in a collision that injured at least one person and caused the tractor-trailer to jackknife at the scene.

According to preliminary reports from the Illinois State Police, a tractor-trailer and a passenger automobile collided at 6:00 p.m. on Interstate 65 southbound between State Road 2 and 205th Avenue.

EMTs reported unknown injuries, and at least one individual was transferred by ambulance to a local medical institution. The inquiry into the accident’s causes is ongoing, but no new information has been made public.

We have the wounded victims in our thoughts in hopes of their full recovery.

Semi-Trailer Accidents Across Chicagoland

In order to transport goods throughout the country, semi-trucks must navigate busy city streets, interstates, expressways, and highways. On our nation’s streets, tractor-trailers are prevalent, but they also represent a threat to public safety. Due to the fact that tractor-trailers are far bigger and heavier than the vast majority of other vehicles on the road, an accident involving one of these vehicles may rapidly become fatal.

In 2018, around 12,200 accidents involving semi-trucks occurred, and authorities estimate that over 2,000 of these instances resulted in deaths. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), semi-truck accidents account for a disproportionately high number of fatalities while being a relatively tiny fraction of total crashes.

Regardless of the circumstances leading up to a semi-truck accident, victims and their families face the brunt of the expenses when someone else’s recklessness results in injury. Those who have been harmed by these often avoidable accidents may feel powerless in the face of excruciating mental pain and significant medical expenses.

If you or a member of your family suffers injuries as a result of any of these circumstances, you may be eligible for a wide range of legal remedies.
