Chicago, IL (September 13, 2022) – On Tuesday evening, September 13, two vehicles crashed on the westbound side of Interstate 80 near Chicago, sparking a police response.

As of 8:15 p.m. on I-80 between Larkin Avenue and Briggs Street, police were investigating a collision involving two to three automobiles. Due to the miles-long traffic jam, law police and medical personnel were sent to the area to investigate and treat any casualties that may have injuries from the wreck. After the accident, one of the involved vehicles caught fire, but Chicago Fire Rescue was able to extinguish it.

The number of casualties is unclear; however, two people were seen being brought to the hospital by ambulance, according to news footage of Chicagoland EMTs at the site.

In any event, the police have not disclosed any further information and are continuing their investigation at this time.
