Chicago, IL - Injuries Occur in Car Accident on I-90/94 at Chicago Skwy

Chicago, IL (November 9, 2022) – One or more people were seriously hurt in a car accident on I-90/94 in Chicago on the evening of November 9, Wednesday.

On I-90/94 Dan Ryan Outbound between the Chicago Skyway and 63rd Street, a major accident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. At least one person was taken to the hospital by Chicago’s EMS units, but their present status is unknown.

Hours of delays were caused by the crash, though the Chicago Police Department had cleaned up the scene by midnight. An investigation remains active and ongoing, however.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their loved ones at this time.

Chicago-area Car Accident Injuries

Nearly 96,000 people were hurt or killed in car accidents in Illinois last year, according to official statistics. Close to 1,000 persons lost their lives as a direct result of the over 950 horrific incidents that took place. According to official data, the three leading causes of fatal car accidents are excessive speeding, drunk driving, and collisions with fixed objects.

When it comes to automobile accidents, busy intersections are the most dangerous places to be in Cook County and its surrounding areas. New statistics show that the greater Chicago area accounts for more than a quarter of all traffic accidents in the state of Illinois.

It is the responsibility of the driver who caused an accident to pay for the damages caused to the victim. That is true regardless of how the discussion concludes. Patients have to deal with emotional anguish on top of the stress of rising medical costs, life-altering injuries, and other financial hardships.

You or a loved one may be able to file a lawsuit for damages sustained as a result of one of these conditions. If the accident victim was not to blame, they should contact a Chicago automobile accident attorney without delay.

The law in Illinois provides that if you are injured in a car accident, and it was the fault of another driver, you may be able to sue that driver for damages. Contacting an attorney as soon as possible after an accident in Illinois is highly recommended, as doing so on your own may make it extremely difficult to collect adequate compensation from the drivers at fault or their insurance companies.
