Multi-Vehicle Wrecks in Illinois
Officials from the National Safety Council revealed preliminary statistics on motor vehicle injuries and deaths in the United States, which indicated a 9% rise in fatalities in 2021 compared to 2020. Moreover, authorities in Illinois estimated an 18% increase in automobile accident deaths. This figure marks an almost 35% surge from 2019 alone.
Even worse, when compared to other counties in the state, Cook County has a high rate of serious motor vehicle crashes. In fact, the Chicago metro area and Cook County on the whole account for up to 25% of all Illinois traffic accidents.
Unfortunately, multi-vehicle collisions are all too prevalent in Illinois, especially in the Chicagoland region. Adding insult to injury, victims and their families pay the price when they are injured or killed in accidents caused by the irresponsible conduct of other motorists.
