Pedestrian Accidents in Chicagoland

Sadly, pedestrian fatalities in the United States have increased by around 36% in recent years, despite a general decrease in mortality from other motor vehicle accidents. Cities like Chicago and Springfield, among others, rank among the most populated and walkable in the United States and may be found in Illinois. Pedestrians also face an increased danger of death or severe injury on the crowded streets of these highly populated areas.

Cook County in Illinois has the highest rate of pedestrian fatalities in the state. In 2019, Cook County had at least 120 pedestrian fatalities, the highest number in at least five years.

Victims of a horrible occurrence may feel hopeless in the face of their ongoing physical agony, acute mental misery, and/or heavy financial demands in the wake of the tragedy. Many pedestrian accident victims don’t make it out alive, leaving behind grieving loved ones and the financial burden of a funeral.

If you or a loved one were wounded or died in a pedestrian accident, you might be entitled to seek legal action. After speaking with a Chicago vehicle accident attorney, you may be entitled to full and fair monetary compensation.

The Illinois Wrongful Death Act permits victims of vehicle accidents caused by another driver’s negligence or recklessness to claim damages. In the event of a successful suit, the plaintiff’s family and dependents are entitled to compensation.

Therefore, family members must speak with an attorney as soon as an event like this happens in Illinois. The D&W Law Group will do everything in its power to ensure that you obtain the maximum compensation to which you are entitled in the case of the death of a loved one or injury experienced in an avoidable accident.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
