Pedestrian Accidents in Illinois

Chicago, IL – Pedestrian Hurt in Crash at N Ashland Ave & S Ashland AveEvery day, motor vehicle accidents take place in Illinois that have overwhelming consequences on the lives of those involved. Regrettably, we see countless innocent pedestrians suffer life-changing injuries as a result of accidents caused by drivers who are negligent and reckless while behind the wheel. Some of the leading factors in car crashes across Illinois every year include:

  • Impairment: Those who choose to consume alcoholic beverages or take drugs before getting behind the wheel pose a serious threat to the safety of those on the road.
  • Running red lights: Running red lights at intersections greatly increases the likelihood of a collision with oncoming traffic or even pedestrians in the area. At intersections across the state, one of the most common causes of pedestrian collisions is drivers who disobey traffic lights.
  • Failing to yield: Accidents involving cars that fail to yield when leaving driveways, parking lots, or switching lanes sometimes result in catastrophic injuries that often require expensive medical treatment.

When drivers engage in these and other reckless actions while traveling near pedestrians, they can strike them and cause serious harm. If you have suffered injuries as a result of an automobile accident that was caused by the negligent or reckless actions of another driver, you may be able to take legal action. A skilled and knowledgeable Chicago pedestrian accident lawyer can help you seek the maximum compensation possible to cover the damages you face.

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
