Chicago, IL – Teen Girl Dies, Five Hospitalized in Van Crash on 51st St
Chicago, IL (December 21, 2022) – Police in Chicago said that an accident on the city’s South Side early on Monday morning resulted in the death of a 17-year-old girl and the injuries of at least five others.
The CPD reports that around 1:15 a.m., a car crashed into the median on West 51st Street in Fuller Park after a separate accident, per early reports. According to Chicago police, five people were hospitalized but are now in fair condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center and Provident Hospital of Cook County.
However, a teenage girl, aged 17, was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the University of Chicago, according to CPD officers.
Although investigators from Area One are looking into the crash, they were unable to share any additional information in the interim.
