Chicago, IL - Two-Driver Crash, Injuries on I-57 Inbound at 119th St

Chicago, IL (January 19, 2023) – On Thursday, a multiple-vehicle collision happened in the greater Chicago metro area, according to local police.

Per Chicago Police, a passenger vehicle collided with another car on Interstate 57 inbound near 119th Street. When the accident happened at 3:25 p.m., both cars were moving between the right lanes and the exit ramp, forcing traffic to back up in those areas for almost a mile.

Two victims were said to have sustained minor injuries, but no information on their current medical condition has been revealed. Both are expected to make a quick recovery, however.

Authorities say no tickets or charges have been issued in connection with the event. Nonetheless, the inquiry into the circumstances behind the crash is still ongoing.

We are thinking about the injured accident victims and wish them a swift recovery.

Car Accidents in Chicagoland

According to Illinois officials, about 67,460 car accidents resulted in 94,170 injuries to individuals involved. Furthermore, around 955 deadly occurrences killed well over 1,000 people. Authorities say that most fatal incidents were caused by a car colliding with a fixed object, intoxicated or drugged drivers, and excessive speed.

Unfortunately, these and other traffic accidents are too prevalent in and around Cook County, with many happening at highly used intersections. In fact, the Chicago metropolitan area is responsible for approximately one-fourth of all car accidents in the Prairie State, in reference to the latest state statistics.

Those involved in an avoidable traffic collision who are injured as a result of someone else’s negligence suffer the brunt of the weight of the repercussions. This is true regardless of the manner in which the occurrence happened. Worse still, victims must cope with the stress and agony of mental suffering, as well as growing medical expenditures, terrible physical injuries, and other financial difficulties.

If you were hurt or lost a family member due to one of these incidents, you may be able to pursue various legal alternatives. If you are involved in an accident that was not your fault, you should contact a Chicago automobile accident lawyer as soon as possible.

In the event that you were injured in an automobile accident in Illinois as a consequence of another driver’s negligence or inattention, you have the legal right to seek justice as well as full and fair compensation. However, recovering significant monetary compensation from the drivers or insurance companies responsible for these collisions can be extremely complex and difficult, particularly without the assistance of a skilled attorney, which is why accident victims in Illinois should seek legal counsel as soon as possible after their crash.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
