Chicago, IL – Two Drivers Crash on I-290 at Mannheim Rd, Causing Injuries
Chicago, IL (December 19, 2022) – On Monday, December 19, two vehicles crashed on the left shoulder of I-290/Eisenhower in Chicago, causing police to rush to the scene.
At approximately 6:10 p.m., police detectives started their inquiry on the Inbound side of the highway in the vicinity of Mannheim Road. Authorities reported major traffic backups all the way back to Bessie Coleman Drive as emergency medical services personnel came to assess the incident and treat any victims.
As a consequence of the incident, a car fire allegedly broke out, and Chicago Fire Rescue workers doused the flames.
Meanwhile, news footage and surveillance video from a nearby business showed at least two persons being rushed to a local hospital. However, no official number of wounded victims has been provided.
