Chicago’s Rate of Deadly Accidents
Every year, hundreds of reports of accidents at junctions are filed with the Federal Highway Administration (FHA), with left-turning and inattentive driving being the most common contributing factors. Approximately 50% of all car accidents happen at intersections. These mishaps occur more frequently than others, especially rear-end collisions.
Most accidents in Cook County’s roadways happen at high-traffic intersections. State data shows that the greater Chicago area accounts for more than a quarter of all traffic accidents in Illinois.
No matter who or what caused the accident, the victims and their families are responsible for covering the associated costs. Those directly affected by these catastrophes may feel helpless in the face of the emotional and financial toll they must bear.
If you or a loved one suffered harm or died as a result of any of these, you may have legal recourse. If you were involved in a car accident in Chicago that wasn’t your fault, you should consult a lawyer straight once.
Illinois law guarantees victims financial recompense when another driver’s negligence or recklessness causes an accident. However, it is vital for accident victims to have competent legal representation, as it may be difficult to receive complete and reasonable financial recompense from drivers or their insurance companies.
