Chicago, IL - Two Officers Hurt in Bronzeville Car Crash on King Dr at 35th St

Chicago, IL (November 5, 2022) – Two Chicago police officers suffered injuries in an early Saturday morning accident located in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

According to officers with the Chicago Police Department, along with Bronzeville authorities, at around 3:15 a.m. The officers were reportedly traveling westbound on King Drive in a marked squad car when they collided with a Volkswagen sedan near the intersection with 35th Street.

The Chicago Fire Department said a 58-year-old female officer and a 56-year-old male officer were both taken to the University of Chicago Hospital. CFD added that the male driver of the sedan was transferred to the hospital in fair condition as well.

Both officers are also listed in fair condition, according to the CPD.

It’s not yet clear what caused the incident, though an investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their complete recovery.

Chicago-area Car Crash Injuries

The Federal Highway Administration (FHA) reports more than 2.5 million car accidents at intersections take place annually, most of which involve left turns and inattentive driving. According to officials, about 44% of all car accidents occur at crossroads nationwide. This is the second most common kind of car accident, second only to rear-end crashes.

Unfortunately, Cook County has a high rate of automobile accidents, especially at busy junctions. According to state statistics, over one-quarter of all traffic accidents in Illinois occur in and around the Chicago metropolitan area.

Regardless of the reason for an accident, victims and their families pay the price for injuries inflicted by the irresponsible conduct of others. Those impacted by these tragic events may feel as if they have nowhere to turn when confronted with debilitating mental stress and costly medical expenditures.

If you have been injured or lost a loved one due to one of these incidents, you may have a variety of legal remedies open to you. When you have been engaged in an automobile accident that was not your fault, you should contact a Chicago car accident attorney as soon as possible.

Under Illinois law, vehicle accident victims who incur injuries due to another driver’s negligence or inattentive driving are entitled to compensation. However, since collecting a complete and reasonable monetary settlement from drivers or their insurance companies may be challenging, it is crucial for accident victims to seek adept legal representation.

Our lawyers at the D&W Law Group know what it takes to create a successful accident claim since they are well-versed in the intricate Illinois legal system. Moreover, following an avoidable accident, our competent and sympathetic legal team will stop at nothing to get the fair and complete compensation that you are due.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
