Fatalities in Chicago-Area Pedestrian Crashes

Chicago, IL - Victim Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on W Cermak RdDespite a general drop in deaths caused by other types of vehicle accidents, the number of pedestrian fatalities in the United States has increased by more than 31% in recent years. Illinois, home to some of the nation’s most populous and walkable cities and towns, including Chicago, Springfield, and beyond, is suffering this terrible trend. On the packed streets of these densely populated places, the danger of severe injury or death for pedestrians is tragically exacerbated.

When confronted with the devastating aftermath of a big accident, victims may feel helpless, whether they are suffering from continuing health difficulties, physical agony, or enormous medical bills. Occasionally, pedestrian accident victims pass away as a result of their injuries, leaving grieving families to contend with increasing costs, lost earning potential, and funeral expenditures in addition to the indescribable anguish of losing a loved one.

If you or a loved one were injured or died in a pedestrian accident, you may have a variety of legal options going forward. You may learn that you are entitled to full and fair monetary compensation after consulting with a Chicago auto accident attorney.
