Chicago, IL - Victim Hospitalized After Three-Car Wreck on Kennedy Expy Near Fullerton

Chicago, IL (May 15, 2023) – The Kennedy Expressway was shut down for a short time on Sunday morning, May 14, after a multi-vehicle accident left at least one person hospitalized.

The accident happened on Sunday morning at about 7:00 a.m. in the southbound freeway lanes near Fullerton, as reported by troopers with the Illinois State Police.

There were at least three vehicles involved, and the road was completely blocked while the accident debris was cleaned up.

Police said that one individual was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries as other victims were assessed and evaluated at the scene.

There is currently no additional information about the accident, but ISP troopers say an active investigation remains ongoing.
