Chicago, IL - Victims Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Wreck on I-90/94 Near 18th St

Chicago, IL (March 30, 2023) – According to local authorities, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in the broader Chicago metro region on Thursday, March 30.

Per Chicago Police reports, a passenger car collided with another vehicle on Interstate 90/94 Dan Ryan Outbound at 18th Street. Both drivers were traveling the left lanes when the wreck occurred at 7:10 p.m., causing traffic to back up to the Byrne Interchange.

At least two victims reportedly suffered mild to moderate injuries, but no information on their current medical status has been released. The reported injuries, according to medics, were not critical or life-threatening, and both are expected to recover.

Authorities say no citations or charges have been filed concerning the incident. In the interim, the investigation into the circumstances behind the wreck is still underway.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones.

Injuries Reported in Chicago Auto Accidents

According to Illinois authorities, roughly 67,455 auto accidents resulted in 94,165 injuries to those involved in these collisions. Moreover, around 950 fatal incidents killed more than 1,030 victims. The deadliest accidents, authorities report, were caused by a vehicle colliding with a stationary object, drunk or drugged drivers, and excessive speed.

Regrettably, these and other types of traffic accidents are unfortunately commonplace in and around Cook County, with many occurring at heavily trafficked junctions. In fact, per state officials, the Chicago metropolitan region accounts for nearly one-fourth of all vehicle accidents in the Prairie State.

When those involved in a preventable traffic accident are wounded as a result of someone else’s carelessness, they and their families bear the brunt of the consequences. This is true regardless of how the incident occurred. Victims must deal with the stress and trauma of emotional pain, as well as mounting medical bills, not to mention painful physical injuries and other related financial obstacles.

If you were injured in one of these incidents or lost a family member as a consequence of one of these incidents, you may be able to pursue a range of legal options. When you are involved in an accident that was not your fault, you should immediately call a Chicago car accident lawyer.

If you were harmed in an Illinois car accident due to another driver’s carelessness or inattention, you have the legal right to seek justice as well as full and fair compensation. However, recovering considerable monetary compensation from the drivers or their insurance companies responsible for these collisions may be exceedingly complex and difficult, especially without the aid of a skilled attorney, which is why accident victims in Illinois should obtain legal assistance as quickly as possible following their crash.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
