Chicago, IL - Woman in Critical Condition, Four Others Hurt After Car Crash on Arlington Heights Rd

Chicago, IL (March 19, 2023) – Police in Arlington Heights reported that a vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon, March 18, resulted in five injuries, one of which was serious.

One driver apparently struck a credit union sign at around 1:15 p.m. between Arlington Heights Road and East Magnolia Street, the Arlington Heights Police Department said in a news release.

A 71-year-old Chicago woman was brought to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition after sustaining a significant head injury.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old driver from Elmwood Park and three other women, ages 62, 73, and 72, who are all from Chicago, were all taken to Northwest Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As of right now, investigators don’t believe that drugs or alcohol played a part in the collision. In the meantime, the collision is currently under investigation by Arlington Heights police and the Large Case Support Team Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their full recovery.

Traffic Accidents in Chicago

The annual number of car accidents in Illinois was around 95,000, according to data. Over the course of 920 events, around 1,010 persons lost their lives. Drunk driving, collisions with fixed objects, and high speeds are the three most common causes of fatal car accidents.

Most fatal and serious injury accidents in Cook County have place on or near major thoroughfares. According to newly released data for the state of Illinois, more than a quarter of all traffic accidents take place in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.

Victims of vehicle accidents often find themselves bearing the tab for another driver’s negligence. The excessive cost of therapy compounds the problem, on top of the patient’s physical and mental suffering as a consequence of the incident.

Victims may be entitled to compensate for the emotional anguish caused by the tragedy or the unjustified loss of a loved one. You shouldn’t wait to get in touch with a Chicago automobile accident attorney if you were hurt in a crash that wasn’t your fault.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
