Gary, IL – Multi-Vehicle Accident, Injuries on I-80/94 at MLK Dr
Gary, IL (May 29, 2022) – A multiple-vehicle accident took place in Gary, just outside of Chicago, on Sunday afternoon, May 29, according to local authorities.
Gary Police reported that the driver of a passenger vehicle was traveling in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80/94 at the Martin Luther King Drive exit when they collided with another car, which appeared to be an SUV. Both vehicles were traveling in the right lanes when the incident took place.
Two people suffered mild to moderate but non-life-threatening injuries, though their current conditions were not made available. Traffic was backed up to Chase Street while the GPD worked the scene.
Police did not say if charges in connection with the incident are currently pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
