Goodfield, IL – Two-Car Crash, Truck Rollover on I-74 WB Leads to Victim Injuries

Goodfield, IL - Two-Car Crash, Truck Rollover on I-74 WB Leads to Victim Injuries

Goodfield, IL (May 25, 2023) – The westbound lanes of Interstate 74 near Goodfield were shut down after an accident involving two passenger vehicles and a pickup truck towing a trailer on Tuesday, according to the Woodford County Sheriff’s Police.

Per early statements provided by authorities, the westbound lanes were blocked by an overturned truck and trailer. Minor injuries were also reported in the incident, though officers with the Goodfield Police Department did not release specific details about those involved.

The highway’s westbound lanes eventually reopened by midnight, but GPD officers are still reviewing the facts behind the accident. An investigation remains ongoing at this time.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their complete recovery.

Injury-Causing Car Accidents in Illinois

Statistics show that about 95,000 car accidents occurred in Illinois in a year. About 1,010 persons lost their life due to over 920 separate occurrences. Drunk driving, collisions with stationary objects, and high speeds are the three most common causes of fatal car accidents.

Accidents resulting in death or serious injury frequently happen at or near heavily used thoroughfares in Cook County. According to newly released data for the state of Illinois, the greater Chicago metropolitan area is responsible for more than a quarter of all traffic accidents.

Accident victims are frequently made to pay the price for another driver’s negligence. As if the patient’s physical pain and mental anguish from the incident weren’t enough, the high cost of care compounds the problem.

Victims may also be compensated for the mental anguish caused by the tragedy or the unjustified loss of a loved one. You should not wait to get in touch with a Chicago auto accident lawyer if you were hurt in a collision that was not your fault.

In Illinois, you have the right to seek justice and financial compensation for injuries sustained in an auto accident if such injuries were caused by another driver’s negligence or illegal action. Accident victims in Illinois should not hesitate to seek legal counsel following an automobile incident. Without legal representation, you may have problems convincing the insurance company of the negligent motorist to compensate you in full for your losses.
