Bicycle Crashes & Injuries Around Chicago

City officials in Chicago have recognized a serious problem with the city’s current rate of bicycle accidents. State data shows that between 2012 and 2019, there were an average of six motorcycle deaths in Chicago per year. Moreover, there has been an uptick in deadly accidents.

Bicyclists involved in car accidents often suffer life-threatening injuries, such as traumatic brain injury, paralysis, and even death. Despite prompt medical intervention like surgery or intensive treatment, some patients may not feel better for weeks or months.

Sadly, many patients do not make it through their ordeals. A person’s loved ones bear a heavy emotional and financial weight after their untimely death in an accident.

If you or a loved one were hurt in a bicycle accident that was someone else’s fault, you might take legal action in a variety of different ways. If you or a loved one has been injured in an avoidable Chicago vehicle accident, you should immediately speak with an attorney.

An individual’s executor, who is usually a close family, may file a wrongful death claim in Illinois. If a person’s death was the result of reckless or illegal behavior, a wrongful death case may be filed in Illinois. Those who put their faith in the plaintiff will be compensated if they prevail.

The statute of limitations for wrongful death claims is typically two years from the date of death, making it critical for family members and other representatives to seek legal counsel as soon as possible following a terrible incident.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
