Niles, IL - Woman Rescued, Hospitalized After Head-on Collision at Howard St & Caldwell Ave

Niles, IL (September 12, 2022) – A two-car collision on Monday afternoon, September 12, left one driver critically hurt in Niles, a northern suburb of Chicago.

Niles authorities were notified shortly after 3:00 p.m. of the collision at Howard Street and Caldwell Avenue. According to the police report, a 71-year-old female driver of a Honda CR-V collided head-on with a 32-year-old female driver of a Lincoln Corsair.

After the Honda CR-V flipped, firefighters in Niles had to rescue the trapped motorist. She had sustained severe injuries and was sent to a local hospital.

According to the authorities, paramedics assessed the Corsair’s driver, who ultimately declined medical attention. Other than the drivers, no other person was traveling in either car at the time of the collision.

Police stated the junction of Howard Street and Caldwell Avenue would be blocked for an extended length of time while an investigation was conducted.

Our thoughts are with the wounded victims; we hope they recover fully and quickly.

Motor Vehicle Crashes in the Chicagoland Area

More than 1,025 persons lost their lives in accidents in the state of Illinois in 2013. Excessive speeding, collisions with immovable objects, and driver distraction have all been identified as leading causes of fatal automobile accidents in the state.

Cook County’s four- and six-lane roads are the scene of several major collisions and deaths each year. In addition, the Chicago area accounts for 26% of all accidents in the state of Illinois.

Accident victims are often forced to foot the bill for the carelessness of others on the road. Moreover, exposure to such situations might have negative effects on one’s health, mental state, and bank account. If you were hurt in a Chicago accident and think it was someone else’s fault, you should speak with an attorney right once.

In Illinois, a person who suffers damages as a result of an auto accident that was not their fault may pursue a personal injury case against the responsible party. If you were recently involved in one in Illinois, you might want to talk to a lawyer who focuses on auto accidents and personal injury claims. Needless to say, it may be challenging to settle with an at-fault driver’s insurance company on your own.

  • "Excellent Law Firm!"

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
