Northbrook, IL – Three-Driver Accident at Dundee Rd & Western Ave Leaves Three Hospitalized
Northbrook, IL (May 22, 2023) – Thursday morning’s commute was delayed due to a multi-vehicle accident that occurred near the junction of Dundee Road and Western Avenue, according to officers with the Northbrook Police Department.
Per the NPD’s latest reports, the collision happened just before 7:05 a.m., and a section of Dundee Road was blocked for almost an hour while the scene was investigated.
All three drivers involved were brought to local hospitals, although only one of them needed serious medical attention.
Police say that the suspected at-fault motorist was heading west when he or she turned left in front of an eastbound car on Dundee Road. When the first driver hit the eastbound vehicle, that car flipped onto its side. The first driver also collided with a third vehicle that was stopped at the intersection.
The officer issued a citation to the suspect driver for failing to yield while making a left turn. In the meantime, an investigation remains ongoing, and no further details about the victims have been made public.
