Rosemont, IL – Motorcyclist Dies in Accident with Dump Truck at Touhy Ave & Mannheim Rd
Rosemont, IL (May 2, 2022) – A man was killed after a serious motorcycle accident took place late Monday afternoon, May 2, in the Rosemont area.
The crash reportedly happened around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Touhy Avenue and Mannheim Road. Rosemont Public Safety officials stated that the man, who was traveling on a motorcycle, collided with a dump truck in the intersection. The motorcyclist was ejected as a result of the impact of the accident and landed near the Metra tracks nearby.
The motorcyclist, identified only as a man in his early 30s, was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Rosemont Public Safety said the roadway was shut down for several hours after the incident, and the investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
