Stevenson, IL – Injury-Causing Wreck on I-55 at Kedzie Ave
Stevenson, IL (March 17, 2023) – On the evening of Friday, March 17, Stevenson Police and the Chicago Police Department responded to a two-car collision near the Kedzie Avenue exit ramp from Interstate 55.
On the freeway’s outward side at about 7:25 p.m., police officers started their investigation. Reports of significant back-ups on Western Avenue led authorities to dispatch medics and police to the area to assess the damage and clear the route. As a result of the incident, another vehicle caught fire, and firemen from Chicago Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
Local TV video showed at least two people being taken to the hospital, but no official injury count has been issued.
The police, however, have not provided any updates. The Stevenson PD has asked that anybody with more information regarding the event get in touch with them.
