Will Co, IL - Three Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on US 52 at Baker Rd

Will County, IL (May 18, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, a car accident left three persons wounded in Will County.

At around 3:50 p.m., troopers with the Illinois State Police responded to a three-car collision on US Route 52 near Baker Road in Will County. Based on the information authorities have released thus far, one driver was heading north on U.S. Route 52 and was about to reach Baker Road as another driver was moving southward in the same area.

Meanwhile, a third vehicle had stopped in the westbound lanes of Baker Road and was yielding to oncoming traffic as required. At that time, the first driver went beyond the neutral zone and crashed with the second driver, whose vehicle overturned and hit the third car.

ISP reports that the first two drivers and a passenger from the second vehicle were sent to a local hospital due to their injuries. Nobody in the third vehicle was hurt.

No additional details have been provided, though troopers with the ISP are continuing to conduct an investigation at this time.

The injured victims and their loved ones are in our thoughts, and we wish them a full recovery.

Injury-Causing Accidents in Chicago

Last year, more than 96,000 individuals were wounded or died in car accidents in Illinois, according to state statistics. Approximately 970 persons were killed as a result of more than 900 tragic occurrences. Moreover, analysts cite collisions with stationary objects, inebriated or drunk driving, and excessive speed as the leading causes of these fatal accidents.

Most traffic accidents in and around Cook County occur at heavily used intersections and on large highways. In point of fact, recent state statistics indicate that more than a quarter of all car accidents in Illinois occur in the greater Chicago area.

Oftentimes, due to the carelessness of others, people wounded in preventable traffic accidents must shoulder the tragic consequences. In addition to growing medical expenses, horrifying physical injuries, and other financial issues, patients must cope with the stress and misery of trauma and emotional anguish.

If one of these incidents has caused injuries or death to you or a member of your family, you may have legal recourse.
