Chicago, IL – Two Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on Stony Island Ave
Chicago, IL (November 18, 2022) – According to Chicago police, two people were killed in a fatal car crash on the south side of Chicago early on Thursday, November 17.
Per officers with the Chicago PD, around 12:45 a.m., the male driver of a white Honda automobile traveling north in the 8100 block of Stony Island Avenue struck a tree in Avalon Park.
The driver, whose identity is still unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. In addition, a female passenger was reported deceased at the scene. The CPD did not release her identity or the victims’ ages immediately. It’s also unclear if any other drivers or vehicles were involved.
The accident is nonetheless still being examined. The CPD expects to provide further information during the next week, as the Major Accidents Unit is conducting the inquiry.
