Chicago, IL (June 15, 2022) – Early on Wednesday morning, June 15, authorities in Chicago reported a hit-and-run accident that left a woman injured and hospitalized.

A white Honda was reportedly struck by a gray Dodge Durango that was traveling southbound on Wells Street just after 2:00 a.m., according to officers with the Chicago Police Department.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to the injured woman and her family. We hope for her complete recovery.

Injuries Reported in Chicagoland Hit-and-Run Accidents

According to traffic studies and analysis of the city’s statistical data on auto accidents, the frequency of hit-and-run collisions in Chicago has increased in the last year. In fact, officials recorded the largest number of accidents, fatalities, and incapacitating injuries in 2021 when compared to the previous four years.

During this four-year period, roughly 130,536 of the total 439,688 collisions recorded by Chicago Police Department officers were hit-and-run collisions. Moreover, per additional facts and figures from Chicagoland authorities, 36,305 hit-and-run collisions happened in 2021 alone, an average of roughly 100 per day and an 18% increase over the 30,695 that occurred the previous year. More than 32,130 hit-and-run accidents happened in the preceding 12 months, and 31,401 were documented the year prior.

And in June 2021, authorities recorded the largest number of hit-and-run collisions of any month in the previous four years: 3,565.

I cannot recommend D&W Law Group enough. From the moment I met the team, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. My attorneys fought the insurance company, and we settled my case without having to go to court. Excellent law firm!

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
