Chicago, IL (June 29, 2022) – The Illinois State Police, in conjunction with the Chicago Police Department, stated that an accident on Interstate 80 on June 29, Wednesday afternoon, caused significant injuries.
The crash stalled eastbound I-80 traffic near Larkin Avenue, with backups stretching back to Houbolt Road. Additional information released by local authorities indicates that officers responded to the two-vehicle collision around 4:45 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, one person was sent to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. Due to the continuing investigation, both eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed, however, the police did not release any other information about the crash.
