Chicago’s Rate of Auto Accidents
In Illinois, there were around 67,000 car accidents that resulted in well over 90,000 injuries, according to government statistics. In addition, about 950 individuals perished owing to over 900 fatal auto accidents. According to officials, the majority of fatal automotive accidents were caused by collisions with immobile objects, inebriated or drugged drivers, and excessive speed.
These and other types of traffic accidents are all too prevalent in and around Cook County, with the majority occurring at high-traffic junctions and major roads or interstates. According to the most current statistics from the state, about a quarter of all vehicle accidents in Illinois occur in the Chicago metropolitan area.
As a result, persons injured in automotive collisions caused by carelessness must pay for their own medical care. Those who are affected must also contend with the mental misery that accompanies growing medical expenses, horrible physical injuries, and various types of financial hardship.
You may be able to take legal action as a consequence of one or more of these circumstances. If you were not at fault for an automobile accident that resulted in injuries or other losses, you should immediately consult with a Chicago auto accident attorney.
You are also entitled to full and fair compensation if you sustain injuries in one of these Illinois vehicle accidents that might have been prevented, especially if the accident was caused by the negligence or indifference of another driver. Accident victims in Illinois should get legal counsel as soon as possible after their occurrence in order to optimize their prospects of receiving considerable financial compensation from at-fault drivers or insurers.
