Chicago, IL (November 25, 2022) – On Friday, November 25, after dark, the Chicago Police Department received a complaint about a collision involving two automobiles on the Independence Boulevard exit off Interstate 290.
Police started their investigation at around 6:30 p.m. on the I-290/Eisenhower Outbound close to Independence. Officers and paramedics were sent to the location to investigate and treat any injuries, and there were allegedly significant delays that reached back to Damen Avenue. The original accident resulted in a car fire, which Chicago Fire Rescue personnel extinguished.
Although there isn’t a confirmed injury toll, news footage apparently showed at least two people being taken to the hospital.
The police haven’t provided any updates, however. An investigation remains active.
We are thinking of the injured victims and their families at this time.
