Chicago, IL (November 3, 2022) – Several vehicles collided on I-65 in the Chicago area early on Thursday evening, November 3. This was confirmed by both the Illinois State Police and the Chicago Police Department.
Several individuals were hurt in the collision. According to local officials, police arrived at the scene of the collision at around 5:45 p.m., blocking the northbound side of I-65 and causing a traffic backup of over three miles while emergency services responded. Close to the exit ramp to 93rd Avenue, traffic was heavier than usual due to closures.
From what we can gather thus far, someone was seriously hurt and sent to the nearest hospital. Authorities were tight-lipped during the hour-long inquiry, and commutes were slowed significantly. A current investigation is still underway.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims, and we hope for their full recovery at this time.
Chicago’s Traffic Accidents & Injuries
Chicago is the third biggest city in the United States, with a population of three million. As a result, the heavy traffic volume in Chicago causes hundreds of car accidents yearly.
Despite the coronavirus epidemic, stay-at-home orders, and social isolation, traffic-related mortality increased. By 2020, the Illinois Department of Transportation predicts speeding will have increased significantly, placing more drivers in danger.
Several people were killed on the city’s roadways because of intoxicated drivers, high speeds, and other forms of irresponsible driving. For motorists, Cook County is the most hazardous area in Chicago.
That makes those who suffer harm in car accidents due to someone else’s carelessness more vulnerable. In many cases, they must also pay for their own medical care out of pocket. It’s not only the physical and financial toll of a catastrophic accident that may take its toll on a person’s mental health; the prospect of a lengthy road to recovery from excruciating pain can be traumatic in and of itself.
At least one of the following must be true in order to file a lawsuit: If you were hurt in a vehicle crash that wasn’t your fault, you should talk to a car crash lawyer in Chicago right once.
In Illinois, if an accident victim can prove that another driver’s carelessness or negligence caused or significantly contributed to their injuries, they may seek financial restitution. Hiring an attorney for an accident as soon as feasible is crucial if you want to receive a fair settlement from the insurance company or motorist who caused your accident in Illinois.
